Enjoy it for what it is or don't play it, it is a free2play game after all. Sure, I might have some fun if I burn through 100 hours of quick progression, but its short lived. Some aspect of a grind is what I honestly think gives any game a feeling of achievement. You can absolutely experiment, and do more so gradually as you get through the different areas. As you say, fishing is trying things out to see what works, and naturally what DOESN'T work. The OP asked for an increased bite rate because he did the exact same thing for 5 days and didn't catch as many fish as he'd like. You can't fit everyone's play-stlye and that is just how it is. It definitely gets easier as you go if you're willing to stick with it but the progress of the game is slow by nature. For me, the first 0-15 lvls were just getting my bearings on how the game works and sometimes it meant doing the most efficient thing possible to set some silver aside. Originally posted by KillJoy:But how would you know exactly what to do and where to go, as well as when to do it to, if you don't try all kind of things out? This game unfortunately does not allow you to do that and makes it really difficult for a free player to do even the most basic of fun fishing. In the end, that is what fishing is all about: trying out things to see what works. The learning and experimenting is much more fun that mimicking what others do. I would rather play the game and test out setups and equipment, than Youtubing and googling all kind of information on how to get better. So without increasing the bite rate, or another possibility is increasing the silver reward per fish, how am I supposed to figure out how it works? It's at this point you are likely going to point me to maps, forum articles and the discord server to show me all kinds of information I should read up on so I can become a better fisher. Alas it requires a lot of silver and that in turn requires a lot of fish. I said before I would love to do that and try out a lot of different things. But how would you know exactly what to do and where to go, as well as when to do it to, if you don't try all kind of things out?
